About This Video
This video demonstrates the filling of an automotive cylinder head water jacket core produced via an amine-cured cold-box process. Arena-flow was used to simulate how core filling was influenced by core geometry, blow tubes, venting and core machine settings. The software predicted the presence of difficult to fill locations in the intricate pattern-forming surfaces in the water passages, and how the unbalance sand and air flow contributed to the issue. Arena-flow was subsequently used to identify and implement a more robust solution before implementation at the foundry.
