CPFD Software is pleased to support the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers’ 2016 Cat Cracker Seminar, August 23-24, 2016 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Houston.
This seminar provides a forum for refiners to meet and share information on the technological advances and regulatory developments that affect the design, operation, and maintenance of FCC units. The program includes a Q&A session with a panel of experts and 25 presentations organized in four topic tracks which enables attendees to focus on a particular aspect of FCC operation or to attend presentations that cover a broader range of interests. More information about the 2016 Cat Cracker Seminar can be found here.
CPFD Software staff will be represented on the Q&A panel as well as presenting a joint industrial paper entitled “The Experience of a Team of Experts to Resolve Severe Regenerator Maldistribution”, authored by Ray Fletcher, John Pendergrass, Peter Blaser and Ken Peccatiello. The paper describes how Barracuda VR® results were used by a team consisting of two independent FCC consultants, a cyclone vendor, and CPFD staff together with refinery engineers in order to inform turn-around decision-making, which resulted in significantly reduced regenerator flue gas emissions while also running with reduced excess O2 and lower CO promotor addition. The full abstract can be found here.
