CPFD Software has continued our longstanding support of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers‘ (AIChE) Particle Technology Forum (PTF) by sponsoring the PTF Student Poster Awards. CPFD would like to congratulate Ishani Karki Kudva and Seyedamin Razavi, winners of the 2024 Student Poster Competition.
Seyedamin is a Ph.D. candidate in Prof. Fanxing Li’s Sustainable Energy Research Lab in the Department of Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University. He earned his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Tehran. Seyedamin is passionate about developing various types of solid sorbents for the direct capture of carbon dioxide from ambient air. His doctoral research centers on designing tunable mixed metal oxides for low-temperature CO₂ capture.
He recently presented a poster titled “Perovskite Oxides as a New Family of Tunable CO₂ Sorbents.” This work highlights the introduction of SrxLa 1-xFeO3 as a new family of materials for CO₂ capture at low temperatures.
Ishani is a 3rd-year PhD candidate in Dr. Fan’s lab, specializing in sustainable process development. Her doctoral research focuses on two main areas: advancing green chemical processes and waste valorization techniques through multiphase approach to contribute to a circular economy.
For the poster session, she presented on “Waste Valorization: High-Purity Syngas Generation from Co-Gasification of Waste Plastics and Biomass Via Chemical Looping Process”.
