The 2016 AIChE Annual Meeting, the premier educational forum for chemical engineers interested in innovation and professional growth, is quickly approaching. This year the Annual Meeting will be held November 13-18 in San Francisco, California, at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square, Parc 55 San Francisco, and Hotel Nikko San Francisco hotels. Connect with us during the week at one of these following events.
Barracuda Virtual Reactor Pre-Release Reception
On the evening of Tuesday, November 15th, join us for an informal evening hosted by CPFD Software with drinks and hors d’oeuvres. We will preview the upcoming release of Barracuda Virtual Reactor 17.1 and present highlights of our software development roadmap along with a new customer applications support initiative. Allow us to host you from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the Fillmore Room on level 4 of the Parc 55 hotel in Union Square. RSVP is not required. However if you plan to attend, please let us know at registration@cpfd-software.com.
CPFD Software Particle Technology Forum Presentations
CPFD Software is making two presentations at this year’s AIChE Annual Meeting as part of the Particle Technology Forum (PTF). Please join us for one or both of the following:
- Dr. James Parker, CPFD’s Chief Technology Officer, will present “CFD Modeling of Particle Segregation in Gas-Solid Systems” in Session 215-Fundamentals of Fluidization III, Monday, November 14th, at 5:14 PM. Dr. Parker will highlight ongoing efforts to develop and improve the modeling of particle segregation and mixing in industrial-scale fluidized systems.
- Mr. Peter Blaser, CPFD’s Vice President of Engineering Services, will present “Extension of Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Regenerator Modeling to Improve Emissions Performance” in Session 691-Industrial Application of Computational and Numerical Approaches to Particle Flow I, Thursday, November 17th, at 2:05 PM. Mr. Blaser will discuss how information derived from Barracuda Virtual Reactor® simulation is used to improve refinery engineering decision making for FCC turnaround. The case of a US gulf coast refiner in which Barracuda Virtual Reactor enabled a reduction in excess O2 and combustion promotor use while positively impacting CO and NOx flue gas emissions following a 2016 refinery turnaround will also be highlighted.
CPFD Software Customer Presentations
We invite you to attend the following Particle Technology Forum (PTF) presentations by our customers to learn how Barracuda Virtual Reactor is being used in their businesses.
- Dr. Neeti Kapur and Dr. Bruce Adkins, Inaeris Technologies, LLC, will present “Cold Flow Validation of Catalyst-Biomass Hydrodynamics in Catalytic Fast Pyrolysis” in Session 24-Circulating Fluidized Beds and Measurement Techniques in Fluid-Particle Systems, Sunday, November 13th, at 5:00 PM.
- Mr. Raj Singh, Technip Stone & Webster Process Technology, will present “Design and Troubleshooting FCC Operation Using CFD Techniques” in Session 736-Industrial Application of Computational and Numerical Approaches to Particle Flow II, Thursday, November 17th, at 3:33 PM.
Particle Technology Forum Dinner
This year CPFD Software will once again be sponsoring the wine at the Particle Technology Forum dinner. The dinner will be held Wednesday, November 16th, from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM on the 4th floor of The Rotunda at Neiman Marcus. Please keep in mind that this is a ticketed event.
