The Asian Refining Technology Conference (ARTC) 2018 will be held this year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from April 23rd – 25th, 2018. Peter Blaser, Vice President of Engineering Services for CPFD Software in conjunction with Viva Energy Refining Pty Ltd, will be presenting Tuesday, April 24 at 02:15 PM on the Application of Computational Particle Fluid Dynamics modelling to support RCCU hardware changes at the Viva Energy Geelong Refinery. Below is a brief description of what will be discussed:
This presentation builds on general concepts presented in multiple 2016 and 2017 publications, namely how computational particle fluid dynamics simulation can be used to pursue more efficient operations while minimizing the risk of potential, unforeseen, negative implications of changes. In the subject case study, the simulations of the historical operation verified the model’s ability to predict the less robust operation observed from 2011-2016 while the pre-turnaround modelling of the post 2016 design verified that the planned change would address the refiner’s primary concern and that no other negative consequences were anticipated. Guidelines for the application of simulation for troubleshooting FCC unit operation and pre-emptively supporting hardware changes are presented.
We will also be hosting a booth and would love to connect with you. Please attend the presentation, stop by our booth, or contact us at info@cpfd-software.com to schedule a meeting.
