One of the major goals of [our] research is to optimize co-gasification systems under varying operating conditions, especially given the variability of heterogeneous feedstocks. [Barracuda Virtual Reactor] enables us to model those complex interactions in detail, ultimately leading to a better understanding of how to design more robust and efficient gasification systems.

We get much more out of our experiments when we compliment them with the CFD modeling, specifically CPFD Software, Barracuda. We have a better understanding of what’s going on. It allows us to see what we can’t see experimentally. And we get more value for our data because of it.
