CPFD will be speaking at NVIDIA GTC 2022, March 21-24, 2022. NVIDIA GTC is the developer conference for the era of AI. It’s where developers, researchers, creators, IT decision makers, and business leaders come together to learn how to shape our world with the power of AI, computer graphics, data science, and more. Registration is free; click here to register.
Peter Blaser (Vice President of Operations) will present talk S42630 “Making Multi-GPU Simulation Accessible to All with DGX A100 Appliances and CPFD” alongside Andy Lin of Mark III Systems and S42300 “Unleash your CAD and CAE applications with Microsoft Azure Cloud” with Nicola Sessions and Gauhar Junnarkur, of NVIDIA and Microsoft, respectively.
Making Multi-GPU Simulation Accessible to All with DGX A100 Appliances and CPFD – Presentation Summary
Barracuda Virtual Reactor is the industry-standard tool for simulating fluidized bed reactors (FBRs) for many applications in refining, petrochemicals, cement manufacture, power generation, and other energy-intensive industries. The same award-winning technology is also enabling sustainability technologies including advanced recycling of plastics, waste-to-energy/fuels/chemicals, renewable fuels, hydrogen production, and other decarbonization applications. The complexity of FBR simulation lends itself well to acceleration via GPU computing. Virtual Reactor utilizes NVIDIA’s multi-GPU computing technology to achieve 50-400x speedups over serial processing. This session demonstrates how the NVIDIA DGX A100 provides multi-GPU compute capabilities to everyday software users, in a form factor that fits under a desk or in the data center. Week-long simulations can now be completed in an hour, and previously intractable problems are now solved in industrially relevant time scales.
