CPFD is proud to be presenting at the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers' 2018 Cat Cracker Seminar, August 21 – 22 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Houston, TX.
CPFD staff will be presenting “Simulation as a Tool for Learning from Historical FCCU Operations”, authored by Peter Blaser and Sam Clark. This presentation is focused on how simulation is used as a tool for knowledge management of lessons learned from current and historical FCCU operations as a means to accelerate the learning process and rapidly deepen the knowledge base of FCC engineers and technologists. Multiple case studies will be presented from both North American and international refiners, where simulation was used to understand and mitigate issues such as erosion, emissions, afterburn, and catalyst losses.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A panel discussion where subject matter experts, including Phil Niccum, KP Engineering, LP and Bob Ludolph, Shell Global Solutions U.S., will respond to questions related to the progression of their career paths, thoughts on the next generation of FCC engineers and the role of simulation. Participants are encouraged to share how simulation is used at their refinery and how legacy knowledge and experience are captured and passed on.
Join us for the presentation and discussion at 9:00 AM, Wednesday, August 22, Track 1: Trends and Innovation.
CPFD is also excited to be hosting Booth 62, and we'd love to see you there. So please stop by.
There will be a number of CPFD employees in attendance. To schedule a one-on-one meeting ahead of time, please contact us at info@cpfd-software.com
AFPM 2018 Cat Cracker
This seminar provides a forum for refiners to meet and share information on the technological advances and regulatory developments that affect the design, operation, and maintenance of FCC units. The program includes a Q&A session with a panel of experts and 24 presentations organized in four topic tracks which enables attendees to focus on a particular aspect of FCC operation or to attend presentations that cover a broader range of interests. It also includes a tabletop exhibit.
