This video, created by Beijing Hi-key Tech Co. Ltd., demonstrates Barracuda Virtual Reactor® applied to a coal powder pneumatic conveying system. The transient flow of coal from the discharge hopper results in an unsteady flow in the conveyance line. The client was primarily concerned about pipeline erosion (wear) and smooth particulate transport throughout the system avoiding saltation (drop-out). The Virtual Reactor™ multiphase CFD simulation results enabled for optimization of unit geometry and operational parameters such as gas velocity.
