- CPFD’s Vice President of Engineering Services, Peter Blaser, will present Simulation as a Risk Reduction Tool for Turnaround Planning on day two of the conference, March 27th, now at 11:10 AM and as part of Stream A: Advances in Refining Technologies.During the presentation, Mr. Blaser will focus on the role of simulation as a risk-reduction tool for turnaround planning. Virtual testing of proposed design and/or operational changes prior to a turnaround may result in multiple outcomes; the simulation results could confirm the benefit of the proposed changes, identify and reduce downside risks related to the proposed changes prior to implementation, or identify further areas of optimization. Mr. Blaser will introduce the risk-reduction concept, illustrating each possible outcome via case studies from multiple global refiners and will show how refiners can utilize simulation effectively as part of their turnaround planning strategy.
- Raj Singh, Senior Technologist, Process Technology, TechnipFMC, will present Advance FCC Features to Improve Refinery Operation and Profit Margins on day two of the conference at 12:00 PM during Stream B.During the presentation, Mr. Singh will show how TechnipFMC is continuously innovating and improving its licensed FCC technology features to overcome challenges facing commercial units. He will discuss the evolution of TechnipFMC’s spent catalyst distribution technology from a simple “Hockey stick” design to a modern “self-aerated, submerged compound angle wye bathtub” distributor using Barracuda Virtual Reactor simulation results to provide insights into the designs and how those designs provide value to TechnipFMC’s customers.
