CPFD receives DOE Award

April 30, 2010

CPFD Software was informed today by the US Department of Energy (DOE) that it received a SBIR award for its graphical-processor-unit (GPU) computational acceleration proposal.  "This will be a true quantum leap forward in speedup for complex, 3D industrial fluid-particle flow simulations by at least a factor of 10x and perhaps 100X," according to Dr. Dale Snider.  CPFD staff will begin work immediately to bring its Barracuda® customers this state-of-the-art technology which will quickly replace the old "cluster machine" concept for massively parallel computing.
