DESCRIPTION:Terrabyte\, CPFD Software’s Japanese distributor for Barracuda Virtual Reactor\, will be attending and exhibiting at the event. \nPOWTEX 2023\, an international powder technology exhibition sponsored by The Association of Powder Process Industr y and Engineering\, JAPAN (APPIE) will be held at INTEX Osaka (Nanko) for three days from October 11 (Wed.) to 13 (Fri.)\, 2023\, with the theme of “PX (Powder-technology Transformation) builds the future”. \nPOWTEX takes place in Tokyo and Osaka alternately every other year. This year the 15th exhibition will be held in Osaka. From the perspective of preventing COVID-19 infections\, which have been a concern since 2020\, we have adopted a hybrid exhibition combining an on-site exhibition with an online exhibition since POWTEX OSAKA 2021\, and we will use the same exhibition format this time. At present\, there is no material that can replace it at home and abroad. With the rapid development of my country’s economy\, cement plays an increasingly important role in the national economy. According to a survey conducted by the China Cement Association\, as of the end of 2020\, Chinese companies have invested in 31 cement clinker production lines in 16 overseas countries. In 2021\, with the support of government departments\, the China Cement Association launched the work of carbon neutralization in the cement industry. 2021 is also the first year of the “14th Five-Year Plan”. SUMMARY:PSRI -  Tracer Webinar\, August 15\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:Tracer techniques to Characterize the Gas and Solids Mixing in Fluidized Beds\, a members only webinar. \nThis webinar focuses on the work PSRI has done to quantify the behavior of gases and solids in fluidized bed systems. To track the path of gas\, PSRI uses helium injections at points of interest and uses thermal conductivity detectors to read the concentration of helium at the desired probe locations. For solids\, small amount of the same bed material dyed with fluorescent dye and injected into the system. The illuminating fiber shines UV light on the material and\, if the presence of dyed particles in the measuring volume\, will then emit a light of certain wavelength back to the receiving fiber\, which is received by a photodiode. Both the gas and solid tracers are introduced into the system in small concentrations relative to the system inventory. Currently in the Gas-Solid Contact program\, PSRI is investigating the use of an adsorbing tracer\, carbon dioxide\, and comparing it to the helium tracer\, which is non-adsorbing. The goal of the program is to quantify how efficiently the adsorbing tracer is contacting (adsorbing) to the catalyst\, as well as how the bed behavior affects this contacting.
